Privacy Notice - Coding Hub

This notice explains what happens to the information you provide when you use the AI for Culture Coding Hub (the "Hub") to run, save and share your creations.

Who is responsible for your data

The Hub is run by Jocelyn at AI for Culture. If you have any questions about this notice or your data, or you would like a saved creation removed, contact jocelyn@aiforculture.com.

What we collect, and only when you choose to save

You can run code in the Hub without saving anything. Nothing is collected at that stage. Information is only stored if you click Save & share. When you do, we store:

• The title you give your creation
• The code of your creation
• Any notes you choose to write
• Your name, only if you choose to add it (it is optional)
• Your consent choices and the date and time you saved

We do not ask for your email address, and we do not require an account. Please do not include any private, personal or sensitive information in your title, notes or code that you would not be happy for others to see.

Why we store it (lawful basis)

We store this information on the basis of your consent, which you give by ticking the boxes on the save form: a required acknowledgement that your saved creation is not private and may be viewable by others, and an optional consent for AI for Culture to feature your creation publicly (for example in an online gallery, on social media, or in workshop demonstrations). Saving works whether or not you give the optional consent; it only controls whether we may showcase your work.

Who can see your saved creation

When you save, your creation is given a unique shareable web link. Anyone who has that link can open and view your creation. There is no login required. Saved creations are therefore not private, and the stored information may be technically accessible to others. If you would prefer your work not to be saved, simply run it without saving.

Where your data is stored

The Hub uses two trusted third-party services: Supabase (the database where saved creations are stored) and Netlify (which hosts the Hub). These providers process data on our behalf and may keep standard technical logs needed to operate and secure their services. They do not use your saved creations for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep saved creations until you ask us to remove them, or until we decide they are no longer needed and delete them. You can request removal at any time by emailing jocelyn@aiforculture.com.

Your rights

Under data protection law (including the UK GDPR / EU GDPR) you have the right to access the information we hold about you, correct information that is wrong, erase your saved creation, and withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email jocelyn@aiforculture.com. You also have the right to complain to your data protection regulator (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk).

Children

The Hub is intended for use in AI for Culture workshops. If a participant is under the age of 16, a parent, guardian or supervising adult should give consent before saving any creation.

Cookies

The Hub itself does not use tracking or advertising cookies. If the Hub is embedded within another website, that website may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.

🚀 How to get started

Make a game or interactive scene with AI, then run it right here.

1. Open an AI chat tool. Go to the AI tool and sign in. Already have ChatGPT or Claude? Those work too. Want to try something new? www.kimi.com is also worth a shot.
2. Pick the model. Click “Code, Reasoning and Chat”, then choose the latest model . Now you can type in the chat bar at the bottom.
3. Begin your prompt with these magic words:
   p5js scene, no HTML.
   …then describe what you want. For example:
   p5js scene, no HTML. Create a game where the player controls a bunny emoji flying through space, battling robots for carrots.
4. Describe a simple game or experience. Keep it small to begin with. You can always build on it.
5. Send it and wait for the AI to finish writing the code, then copy all of it.
6. Come back to this page. Paste the code into the “Your code” box on the left and click ▶ Run. Your creation appears on the right.
7. Something went wrong? Tell the AI what happened or what you'd like to change, copy the new code it gives you, and run it again. A few rounds of back-and-forth is completely normal. That's how it's meant to work!
8. Happy with it? Click 💾 Save & share to get a link you can send to anyone, and your creation can appear in our gallery.

💡 Tip: Starting with “p5js scene, no HTML” keeps things simple and reliable, but this Hub can also run full HTML pages if you'd like to experiment further.
